Cycle Guide on Majorca 2024
It all begins with an idea.
My name is Mario Tinge and I am quite a fanatic cyclist. Born in Holland, cycling is in our DNA. Despite moving to England some 33 years ago, I have kept my Dutch nationality !
I started cyclin when approx. 5 years old and still at it now …… cycling some 15,000km per annum. I own 3 different bicycles, an aluminum Giant Contend rim brake road bike, a steel Singular Gryphon for gravel riding and my trusted Ribble CGR ALe (electric) which I have for nearly 5 years and covered some 30,000km and still going strong.
It all begins with an idea of what it is like taking people out cycling in a group being the guide. I decided that Majorca would be great place if not THE best in the world.
The island is known for its fabulous weather and smooth road surfaces. So I approached a cycling holiday company on the island and I was so luck to land a job as a cycle guide. So off I went in February’24 for 10 weeks.
On arrival, the weather was warm despite so early in the year. Soon I settled into my role as guide and was exploring the routes so I would not get lost taking clients out. I also had to provide support in bicycle maintenance and setting up bicycles, no problem as I know a fair bit about bikes. I also have my own company building wheels, #www.mariothewheelbuilder.co.uk.
Throughout the weeks, I have taken many clients out and enjoyed every km I have ridden on the Island of Majorca.
I hope to be back later in the year.
Cycle guide with Clips Majorca Cycling.
It all begins with an idea.
In June I contact other cycling holiday companies on Majorca for some more opportunities and it was #ClipsMajorcaCycling that gave me the opportunity to return to the Island in the beginning of September' 2024.
I met the owner Luc ten Haaf and we connected straight away. The initial period was for 12 days as a cycling guide and passed the “test” so to speak. During my stay, I was also supporting the shop and the workshop with setting up bicycles for clients.
I really enjoyed my time and hoping to return in March 2025 for some guiding on Majorca.
